Is a home on this list a secured memory care unit?
Not necessarily. The Alzheimer's designation in LARA's file says which populations a home is licensed to serve; it does not certify a locked unit, a staffing ratio or a dementia program.
Homes for the aged and nursing homes that market dementia care must hand families a written description of those services under MCL 333.20178. Adult foster care homes are not covered by that statute.
