Who runs Grand Rapids Senior Advisor?
Grand Rapids Senior Advisor is a West Michigan senior care referral and information service, part of a network of city senior advisor sites. Our advisors help families in Kent, Ottawa, Allegan, Montcalm and Ionia counties compare licensed care options, free of charge.
Wilhelmina, the advisor in the chat window, is the friendly front door: answer a few questions and a local advisor follows up with options. Behind the site is a simple idea -- that families deserve the state's own record of a home before they tour it, not after.
What makes this site different from other senior living directories?
Every home we list comes from official records: 343 homes from Michigan LARA's licensing file and report index, 49 nursing homes from CMS Care Compare, plus CMS hospice and home health data. We publish the inspection history next to each home and never invent a rating.
We do not copy prices or marketing claims from facility websites, we do not rank homes by who pays us, and we list homes that have no relationship with us at all. Where a number cannot be traced to a primary source -- a Grand Rapids memory care price, for example -- we say it does not exist rather than estimate it.
How do families use the service?
Most start in the directory or a city page, read the records, then ask an advisor to narrow the list; others go straight to the five-question match. Either way there is no charge and no obligation.
Use the "Get matched" button on any page, or send a question.
Is Grand Rapids Senior Advisor affiliated with the State of Michigan?
No. We are not affiliated with LARA, MDHHS, CMS, the VA or any government agency. We use their public data and link to the original records so you can check our work.

Which areas does Grand Rapids Senior Advisor cover?
Kent, Ottawa, Allegan, Montcalm and Ionia counties -- 29 cities and communities with their own pages, from Grand Rapids, Wyoming and Kentwood to Holland, Grand Haven, Greenville and Ionia.
What does an advisor do after you get in touch?
An advisor reviews your answers, calls or emails to understand the care needs, budget and preferred towns, and sends a short list of licensed options with each home's state record.
If you want, the advisor arranges tours and follows up after them. There is no fee and no obligation to choose any home on the list.
